Friday, September 3, 2010 US National Cowboy Fastdraw - tba
Description: US National Championships of Cowboy Fast Draw to be held in Pendleton, Oregon!
It was announced during the 2010 US National Championships of Cowboy Fast Draw in Idaho City, Idaho that the event will be moved to Pendleton, Oregon in 2011. Scheduled for September 1-4, 2011 this four day shooting event is expected to draw 120 – 150 shooters and their families from 20 states.
The Idaho Shootists chose Pendleton for several reasons, including the long standing Western culture, great amenities, welcoming attitudes and convenient location. One of the Trail Bosses on the planning committee, Jon D. Long aka “Blackjack” stated, “The City of Pendleton, the Pendleton Convention Center and Travel Pendleton were instrumental in convincing the group that Pendleton was the best choice to move their growing event.” Blackjack also stated. “The event has been held in Idaho City for the past several years and we would like to thank everyone in Idaho City for all their support. With our sport and event growing rapidly this event had simply outgrown the community’s ability to host.”
Yolanda Lennon, Tourism Promotion Director for Travel Pendleton shared, “Pat Kennedy and I are both so excited that we could draw this unique western event to Pendleton and we both know that the Shooters are going to fall in love with all that Pendleton has to offer them. I would also like to thank Pat his staff at the Convention Center and Pete Wells in rolling out the red carpet on behalf of the City of Pendleton. That cooperation is what convinced this group that Pendleton was the best location for future events.”
On the Cowboy Fast Draw website www.cowboyfastdraw.com it is stated; The Cowboy Fast Draw Association is about "safety first, fun second, and competition third." It's about handshakes, Contact: Yolanda Lennon, yolanda@pendletonchamber.com or 541.276.7411 Location: Pendleton, Oregon |
