Oregon Film Trail sign at the Geiser Grand Hotel
- The Oregon Film Trail is a state-wide network of trail markers placed at iconic filming locations or places that are strongly connected to a production. They have partnered with the SetJetters app to elevate a visitor’s experience. The trail emphasizes local communities and their stories, recognizing the impact productions can have on communities. - EOVA is providing project coordination for the team working to get a sign at the Geiser Grand Hotel in Baker City. This sign will recognize the hotel’s connection to the 1969 movie Paint Your Wagon. Key partners include Travel Baker County, the Geiser Grand Hotel, and Baker County Economic Development.

Self-guided Audio Tours
- EOVA is coordinating a cohort of local partners to develop self-guided walking tours (with audio narration). Our goal is to provide a free, interactive experience that helps visitors learn our local history and connect to our communities.
- This will be a largely grant-funded project. A contractor will develop the tours, working in collaboration with local partners and existing historical resources.
- Tours are estimated to be launched summer of 2025.
- Project start: planning started summer of 2023, project kick-off with local partners in Feb 2024
- GET INVOLVED: What self-guided experiences are available in your area? Do you have a historic walking tour, a driving tour, or a route of interpretive plaques? Let us know!
Northeast Oregon Arts Trail
- The Northeast Oregon Arts Trail is a project collaboratively led by: Josephy Center for Arts & Culture, Crossroads Carnegie Art Center, and Art Center East. Their goal is to provide a central source of information about arts and culture experiences across Northeast Oregon.
- The project stalled during COVID, but they recently received a Travel Oregon grant that will be instrumental in reviving the project. Their new website and programming will be live in early 2025.
- EOVA has been providing meeting facilitation support since Dec of 2023.
Respectful Representation
- EOVA is working to improve our internal understanding of how to reference the Oregon Trail and our tribal partners and cultures. It’s important that our language and storytelling are accurate and respectful of all experiences.
Industry support: EOVA also supports industry partners as opportunities arise. For example…. e.g. NHOTIC interpretive planning process, attending NHOTIC stakeholder meetings, etc
We have also identified areas of interest for future projects. If you are interested in being involved in any of these, please reach out!
